In August 2024, PUC-Rio’s DH Lab collaborated with CINEPUC and the Research Group of PUC-Rio’s Laboratory for Advanced Research in Psychoanalysis and Subjectivity (LAPSU, from the acronym in Portuguese) by offering the film cycle HUMANIDADES DIGITAIS (“DIGITAL HUMANITIES”, in English).

The cycle sought to discuss the impact of digital technologies on individual and collective life. Aspects such as human/non-human hybridization, the digital mediation of social, political and cultural relations, the limits of the human and the universe of language will be at the center of debates on digital humanities based on the movies’ narratives.

The cycle screened four films – Videodrome, O Auge do Humano, Pulse and Adeus à Linguagem – at Estação Net Gávea, followed by debates with free entrance.
